Amazing Grace 2011

"Amazing Grace" was playing inside,
where only emptiness had come to abide,
only silence I let my soul hear,
His strength no longer was coming near.

Still the song played where fear did fade,
finding a place where His joy is made,
remembering the music in songs of praise,
that followed me through haunted days.

Soon more music came flooding in,
to heal the screams of where I'd been.
Your written words surrounded me,
opening my soul to what I was always
meant to be.

You gave me back my peace and more,
and I see You more real than ever before.
The love You gave to creation's plan,
to redeem the souls of sinful man.

You took it on for the weakness of the world,
only asking us to return Your love,
and tell each soul that we might meet,
that God has a plan where there is no defeat.

Romans 12:3 For by the grace given to me,
I ask every one of you not to think of yourself
more highly than you should think, rather to
think of yourself with sober judgement on the
measure of faith God has assigned each of you.
