If Grace Is A Gift** How many prayers would I have to pray,
to make it to heaven come judgement day?
How many songs would I have to sing,
for redemption's grace to bring?
What mission do I make,
so my soul I not forsake?
What charity do I serve,
heaven's rewards to partake?
How many good deeds are required and more,
before I've finally evened eternity's score?
What church should I attend,
to rightly make amends?
How often should I go
before heaven I can know?
How much time should I spend with the sick,
before my salvation is sure to stick?
How much suffering must I endure,
before I've earned Heaven's reward for sure?
What will it take to meet my maker face to face,
and know I've received enough grace?
If grace is a gift that purchases my soul free,
then why must I work so hard to be close to Thee?
Ephesians 2:8 "For it is by grace you have been
saved, through faith and this is not from
yourselves, it is a gift of God."
