Eden's Door 2003

Man was created in a sinless world to reign,
where he would never know sorrow or pain.
Granted an eternal haven of joy, peace and rest,
first he must pass an all important test.

A deceiver was sent to make the test true,
and what was forbidden was temptation's due.
A choice was made that took Paradise away,
bringing pain and sorrow for all man's days.

So the gift of life became punishment and reward,
death becoming man's two-edged sword.
Now man stood naked, exposed by sin's shame,
quickly clothing himself with excuse and blame.

Life no longer starts at Eden's door,
and there are no guarantees of what's in store.
God need not punish the hopelessly lost,
when life itself becomes man's earthly cost.

Our Savior was there when it all began,
waiting for the chosen time to redeem fallen man.
To bring him back to Paradise's shore,
where he can abide with our risen Lord, forevermore.

Corinthians 5:21 "God made him who had no sin to
be sin so that in Him we might become the
righteousness of God."
