The First And The Last**

Lord, what kind of day must it have been,
when all the known world was first full of sin.
When all the tomorrows man had to face,
changed forever by the sin of one man's disgrace.

Where once we were free to walk with Thee,
in a garden full of every delight that could ever be,
needing nothing more than to hear Your voice,
until there was made an unrighteous choice.

Lord, what kind of day must it have been,
that changed all the lives lived now and then,
where one would be needed to save us from sin,
and all the world not know where to begin.

From the time of creation You knew how it would go,
that there would be many truths we would need to know.
A plan that would unfold as the generations flow,
into which all the saved were meant to grow.

A plan that would include the first and the last,
from today's sinful world to the future and the past.
Where forgiveness would cover all those of faith,
from every walk of life and all time and place.

Genesis 2:9  Out of the ground the Lord God
caused to grow every tree that is pleasing to the
sight and good for food;  the tree of life also in
the midst of the garden, and the tree of the
knowledge of good and evil.
