Joy And Happiness**

Joy and happiness oft hard to come by,
life's pressing cares causing many deep sighs,
from the scorching heat of the recent days,
to remembering the bitter cold of a distant yesterday.

Yet the day is bright with sunshine and blue skies,
seen different through children's young eyes,
taking the days mostly as they come,
enjoying all they can find in each one.

But whether the day be happy or sad,
deemed not by weather that is good or bad,
depending not on attitude's moody bend,
or what the day's events will send.

For the joy of heaven is here today,
no matter what happens to come our way,
the choice is one we are free to make,
each day one of happiness we can take.
