Help Me To Know**

Help me to know,
my good works do not make you happy or sad,
that it is only me they make glad,
with Your Holy presence I am humbly clad.

Help me to know,
that all my prayers do not make you change,
but my own wayward soul is re-arranged,
and I have all of eternity already gained.

Help me to know,
my soul has been bought with a price,
defeating the purpose of Satan's device,
his treachery no longer succeeds to entice.

Help me to know,
You do not sometimes stand close,
and then drift afar off like a haunting ghost,
my body is Your temple, an earthly host.

Help me to know,
Your presence remains the same,
whatever good or bad I have to claim,
Your love is steadfast without blame.

Philippians 2:12-13  "Therefore, my dear friends,
as you have always obeyed-not only in my presence,
but now much more in my absence-continue to work
out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is
God who works in you to will and to act according
to his good purpose"
