A Home For My Heart 2000

What blessings can I count today,
that you have surely brought my way,
of many earthly needs and desires,
all surpassed by what heaven aspires.

I have always had a place to call home,
no matter where my life did roam.
A place of comfort to lay down my head,
safe from what life might dread.

You have always provided a home for my heart,
from which earthly plans did not depart.
The direction of my life in times past,
bringing me back to what was first and last.

For, whatever the earth provides in loss or gain,
in the end only the wealth of heaven remains,
where I might live beyond the end of time,
the promise of everlasting life to find.

believes has everlasting life."
