Angels Cast No Shadows 04/22/2005

My shadow follows me by day,
always somehow going my way,
seeming to hide in the dark of night,
coming forth in the lantern light.

Shadows oft cause us to quake,
not knowing the real form it takes,
invading our dreams from which we wake,
imagining the untrue horror it might rake.

With the sun's light at our back, bright,
shadows are an amusing sight,
walking before each step we place,
no matter how fast or slow we race.

With the light of the sun or moon
shining upon our face,
the shadow behind us seems to chase,
a darkened spirit we cannot displace.

One day we will be
   where no shadows are cast,
where there are no dark corners
         from the past,
a place where angels form
   no shade of gloom,
      bringing to light the darkest
         earthly tomb.

Colossians 1:13-14  "for He
has rescued us from the dominion
of darkness and brought us into
the kingdom of the Son He loves,
in Whom we have redemption ,
the forgiveness of sins."
