Lord, let me give the rest of my life,
to someone who has less strife.
Someone who has the will to go on,
who wants more time to be strong.

Lord, I can't pick the one who needs it most.
I know you will send this gift, lest I boast.
There is someone who wants another step,
the one I cannot find, because of so many missteps.

Lord, my failures are looming large within,
but I know that You have paid for all my sin.
Lord, it still comes back to haunt and tease,
Lord, take it from me, send comfort, please.

Lord, I am tired and have done my best,
now wanting only my everlasting eternal rest.
Lord, so many words speak of our heavenly home.
a place where sanctified souls no longer roam.

Lord, I will wait for whatever you deem right.
I no longer want to live but I still don't want to die.
Is there a place somewhere in between the two,
where I can safely, quietly wait for You?

Psalms 38:15  Lord, I wait for You;
You will answer, Lord my God.
