Embers of a Soul 1993

Dead ashes of flickering hope and pain,
Lie cold and dark like black rain.
No warmth is left in the lifeless mass,
no inviting greeting has come to pass.

The embers of a soul die within.
The ashes of pain testify to Him.
The charred remains black as death.
There is no life where there is no breath.

Among the darkness walks not despair.
Among the darkness is heard a prayer.
A prayer of surrender, love and peace.
A prayer where sorrow and tears both cease.

Know that in the darkness there burns a great light.
Come out of the darkness and discover the sight.
See without eyes the brightest black void.
Open the bound spirit that was once destroyed.

2 Corinthians 4:6  For God who said, "Let light shine
out of darkness", has shone in our hearts to bring to
light the knowledge of the glory of God on the face
of Jesus Christ.
