Perfected In His Grace 11/11/2003

She use to fear the person she thought she should be,
no matter how hard she tried, she could not perfect be.
She didn't see perfection in anyone she met,
still, she knew perfection is what they would expect.

She made as few mistakes as she could,
always trying to be especially good.
Her days turned to months, months to years,
her mistakes multiplying all her fears.

When life seemed to prove her doubts to be true,
her troubled heart did not know what to do.
Her earthy failures surely heaven's knowing shame,
until she understood why the Savior came.

For no one on this flawed earthly sphere,
could save themselves in spite of their tears.
The most perfect person to be found,
could not earn one speck of heavenly ground.

A Savior to redeem our tainted souls,
by being the only perfect sacrifice anyone knows.
We are perfected only in His redeeming grace,
one day redeemed we will behold His face.

Acts 15:11 (Concerning the gentiles)
"We believe it is through the grace of our
Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are.
