A Tree Among The Ferns 1994

How light were our burdens,
how few our concerns,
when the only problem we had,
was a tree among the ferns.

A tree in a garden of peace and delight.
A tree that held God's greatest insight.
It's purpose was set aside from all the rest.
A tree that would become man's greatest test.

Even Adam was not spared that day,
when the "angel of light" took paradise away.
He told Eve the tree was her's to partake,
the God of the Heaven's they did forsake.

Now our problems are vast and wide,
as all our guilt we seek to hide,
or blame the one who brought deception,
of all the earth is no exception.

God held in mind another tree,
where the Savior would hang for you and me.
Our guilty stains He would wipe away,
taking all our blame with Him that day.

Now our burdens are light and free,
with all our problems nailed to a tree.
A tree of paradise among the ferns,
where mankind places all his concerns.

Galatians 3:13  Christ ransomed us from the
curse of the Law by becoming a curse for us,
for it is written, "Cursed be everyone who
hangs on a tree."
