One Believes 2002

One believes in heaven's glory,
another in Satan's falsehoods and stories.
One believes in punishment and damnation,
another in salvation with no spiritual determination.

One believes that sins are forgiven week to weak,
by a "man of the cloth" who's absolution they seek.
Around their neck, one wears a religious icon,
of priest or saint, Holy Mother, God's Begotten Son.

One knows the symbol came at a great price,
another is not clear why they wear the device.
One lights a candle leaving a monetary token,
saying a prayer, but will the answer be spoken.

One prays openly before each and every meal,
knowing their spiritual provider is very real.
One takes food to those who are in need.
decreasing their own hunger with the deed.

All want to gain the rewards of heaven's glory,
skipping the knowledge of God's greatest story.
Impossible to lead a life of absolute perfection,
brings us back to the Son's glorious resurrection.

Romans 1:4
...and who through the spirit of holiness
was appointed the Son of God in power by His Holy
Spirit by His resurrection from the dead:
Jesus Christ our Lord.
