Hands 07/1992

Hands employed with hard work,
found rough and calloused,
as they dig in the dirt.

Hands engaged in tender care,
gratefully loving and kind,
as they give more than their share.

Hands gentle as they hold another's tight,
the helpless smaller one safe and secure,
in the protection of the larger one's might.

Hands are precious as they turn life's page,
so young with all youth's beauty to wage,
now tired and wrinkled, worn with age.

Hands searching pages of Holy truths,
clasped in humble prayer loosed.
Hands unashamed to give proof.

Hands testifying to eternal love,
as they reach out to hold a heavenly dove.
Hands obedient to the heavens above.

Hold tight the hand that tells a true heart,
feel the strength of hope never to depart.
Holding hands that were there from the start.

Proverbs 90:17  May the favor of the Lord our God
rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us...
