Our Common Lord**

The simple words of one bowed in prayer,
for the needs of others who have come to share,
the burdens the world weights on them,
the worries that bring them back again.

A voice that speaks to our common Lord,
knowing He discerns each and every word,
as our hearts leap with joy from the sound,
daring not to take for granted-mercy astounds.

For the words bring His presence near,
for those who believe, the message is clear,
surrounding us with power from above,
surrounding us with His eternal love.

1 Chronicles 16:34 Give thanks to the Lord,
because His gracious love is eternal.
