Second Hand Rapture (November)
the Earth is turning Silver from Gold
every Summer seed I've sown
was just a flower meant for your hair
now a nostalgic crown
so it's November once more--
the wait for Winter's ballet of falling beauty begins,
a pure Reprieve
silent covered steeples in our future
and quiet rooms
let's wrap ourselves in wool
and put the year's madness
(the life we've known, the seeds we've sown)
to bed for a while beneath the forgiving White
like some Second-Hand Rapture
(we'll name our little girl November)
Graces
November, 2013
