IT'S ME

What do you see girl, what do you see,
What are you thinking, when you look at me.....

A crabby old man, whose not very wise,
Uncertain direction, with far away eyes......

Who dribbles and spits, sees through caterac eyes,
Do you say not loudly,"I wish he would die!"

You think I don't hear, the things that you say,
We're losing direction, we're losing our way.......

Resisting or not, I let you do as you will,
With running around, it's a long day to fill.......

I'll tell you who I am, as I sit here so still,
Then I'll move at your bidding, I'll move at you will......

I'm a lonely old man, with tired old feet,
Not sure "my love", you'll be able to keep........

My young are all rearing, young of thier own,
I think of the years and the love that I've known......

Dark days are upon me, my parents are dead,
To look at the future, I shudder with dread.......

I'm an old man now, and life can be cruel,
So many chances, I've been such a fool.......

My body is crumbling, as vigor departs,
Now there's a stone, where I once had a heart.......

Inside this carcass, a young man still dwells,
Now and again, my embittered heart swells........

I remmember the good times, I remmember the pain,
Wishing sometimes, I could start over again.........

I think of the years, how they went by so fast,
Accepting the fact, that nothing can last........

So open your eyes girl, open and see,
Not at some crabby old man, look closer, it's me........
