Twist in the Tale

There lies a book on my bedside table…
Winking me to read its fable…
Every day I pick it up … then toss and turn its pages…
But leave it back to its own cages…
It looks at me horrified at my nonchalance…
Who can tolerate this Negligence?
I pat it back and say Chill… look have some patience …
Believe me your day will come… but till then … take it easy…

Easy…O what a way …to get away…
Who's that darling who has got your fancy…?
I am sure its poetry…your new love…
You ignore every chore…for that dame…
This silly love affair is becoming every ones bane…
Stop that rhyme…and do some prose…
You would realize in due course…
The listlessness of your soul…was looking for this goal…

O jealous Suitor hold your breath….
Am no Shakespeare dying to write Macbeth…
This drama drains… Leaves my sensitive cells… strained…
Riveted… I am to the beauty of Poetry…
Join the race and prove yourself…
You lie lazily on a pedestal…
And choose to complain here and then…While
Dear Poetry knows where is my heart and soul.
So off you got to sleep …till you have the power to beep…

You talk of Beep…while forgetting promises you got to keep…
Had I been some other place…I would not have faced this disgrace…
This humiliation and rejection…was never so painful…
Hand me over to another Gent…at least I would not repent…
Waiting all these years…Trying to catch your attention…
While you move around flirting …with other dimensions...

Years…This was news…I kept you a month back…
What an exaggeration…of your fancy fascination…
And I got you with an intention …
but it seems you are too Proud and Impatient…
I am sure you need another Gent…
I am glad I am not rightly meant… for discovering your tales…
So before your pages turn pale with depression …
Let me hand you over to someone who would enjoy your sensation …
And can remain your obsession…

Book got Quiet…as if on a verbal diet…
This spat would lead to such an end…
This was …not what he meant…
He wanted to say…If I had to go…
I would have gone …with a slip of a hand…
This was love …she did not understand…
O What way do I seek her hand…

Thus the twist in the tale…
Which no mortal eyes could fail…
Tortured I am with this new allegation…
Two love interests vying for attention…
I need some time before any reaction…
