 MY POETRY 205-THE RELENTLESS DAY
    89074 Poems Read.

Timeless

It was one of those blue days
               Slow and warm
               A feast of May.
               Dogs,tails wagging,
               sniffed the delights
               of new summer
               and children pounded the paths
               to the old castle,excited voices
               raised then fading
               like bees droning off
               into the distance.
               Timeless.

It was one of those flat, calm seas.
               The ships,tankers both,were giants
               held by anchor.
               Suspended steel on silky ocean,
while the tide slurped and gurgled,
               chewed on pebbles.

It was one of those old days
              in a new moment.
              All who'd come before
              were,in a sense,still here
              Fisherfolk,miners,families
              and pierrots.............laughter.
Generations etched in grass and stone,
echoing from sand and derelict harbour.
              Timeless....
