I just wanna win

Constant war within myself
                        Against myself
I have no clue how to win
How does one win a battle that rages within
Constant fighting
So abused
So used
Alone inside
No place to hide
Anger takes no sides
The only time she'll ever be neutral
Always this war
I want to win
End this war
I want to trust
I want to feel
Something that's real
I want to touch
               be touched
And it be no big deal
Instead I'm trapped
Give her a drink
The shadows shift and take hold
Need a happy medium
Watch as the untold story unfolds
Why does she have to be so bold
As a child she followed the rules
Now she never does as she's told
She's grown up now
She cannot be owned
All she wants is a true home
A steady hand to hold
To laugh and talk as we grow old
And take comfort in one strong fact
She never sold her soul
