The Jaded Sea
[1st v:] As you set your sails You look out Upon the jaded sea Wondering.... Was it what Was it you Just what was it That failed No need to keep filling the cup The wine has soured Nothing more Just ever Ever Seems to measure up Watch the dial The sun will set Contemplate again Just for awhile [1st ch:] Once..... things seemed nice Then too much effort Ruled the way Forever Throwing the dice Once again You learned with time Hopes and dreams Fashion a sense of beauty But what cuts in deep Is the brutal reality Ready yourself forever what will be To ride the raging storms Always looking forward To the short but tranquil Ride on The jaded sea Come what may Not too much Of the fragile Currents that drain upon The night and day Sail away and be Toss the worries Turn away from the pain Figure it all out Riding on The jaded sea [2nd v:] Listen well enough to hear Vision out for a moment What in the past You most feared Want to comfort The forgotten heart Emotions in line Prepared never again To be Torn apart Believe what you will Believe .... What you may Guided past experience Will carefully take you Up that Unknown hill Turn to face the open sky Look out Upon the mysterious Open sea Leave plenty of room to venture on And about On through The jaded sea [2nd ch:] Once.... things seemed nice Then too much effort Ruled the way Forever Throwing the dice Once again You learn with time Hopes and dreams Fashion a sense of beauty But what cuts deep Is the brutal reality Ready yourself forever what will be To ride the raging storms Always looking forward To the short but tranquil Ride on The jaded sea Come what may Not too much On the fragile Currents that drain upon The night and day Sail away and be Toss the worries Turn away from the pain Figure it all out Riding on The jaded sea Written: 10/ 17-18/ 2009 Inspired by ~ My own thoughts of perception on certain situations that just seems to ,always and forever contradict themselves
