The God We Adore**

There are a thousand things our hands find to do,
depending on the talents of all but a few,
finding jobs we know how to complete,
and other jobs we are sure to repeat.

Hands that can heal and maybe save a life,
hands not strangers to hard work and strife.
Hands that know how to build and repair,
reaching out to change another's welfare.

What part will hands play in Heaven's domain,
what comfort and joy can a heavenly touch attain?
Will heavenly hands become callused and sore,
will our transformed hands clasp in prayer once more?

What wonders in Heaven will our hands explore,
that we have never known in our earthly world before?
What hands will guide us to our eternal shore,
where we will raise our hands to the God we adore?

and in Your name I will lift up my hands."
