Knowing You**

Do I know You in my heart, Lord?
Can I know that You dwell in my soul?
Many times I know without a doubt,
and my faith is cause to sing and shout,

But there are days of uncertain peace,
of constant plodding who knows where.
Unread verses accompany unsaid prayers,
and spiritual commitments are not there.

For Your glory to live within my soul,
I must renew the truths I learned long ago.
To satisfy the hunger that gnaws inside,
Your manna from heaven must sustenance provide.

Deuteronomy 8:3  "He humbled you, causing
you to hunger and then feeding you with
manna, which neither you nor your fathers
had known, to teach you that man does not
live on bread alone but on every word that
comes from the mouth of the Lord."
